In addition, three people have been treated for burns they received while wearing clothing that was used by Wipeout contestants. The woman's leg was amputated below the knee. The man lost part of his intestine and colon and had several other serious injuries. In 2010, two contestants - a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman - both needed surgery after being thrown off a bridge during a race across Canada.
